New visitors...

I appreciated the recent visit from Betty. She commented on my last post along these lines:

"Lovely photos! Thank you!
First time here; Your blog is truly interesting!Love it!
Hope you're having a great weekend :)

This comment aroused my curiosity, so I meandered over to her blog...

A kindred soul. A Renaissance woman. A fellow philosopher and humorist. How nice.

(I think I found our common link: SeptemberMom. Who had commented on one of Betty's posts regarding Happiness.)

Inspiration is often found in community. Betty's post on happiness led to my free-verse response:

is the inward chuckle
inspired by a positive twist,

the half smile
evoked in the presence of beauty, large or small,

and the inner laughter
erupting from a sense of delight.

Happiness is a way of travel.
Happiness is a lens.
Happiness is...

Looking for some inspiration or just some enjoyment... check out her blog.

(These pictures are from the last night of my March get-away to San Clemente. The view from our balcony.)

  1. Hi Don,
Thank you so much for your comments! :)
I'm very honoured and blushing at your compliments.
Beautiful poem! "..erupting from a sense of delight.." how lovely!
San Clemente looks great, what a nice capture of the view.
    Following you!
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  2. Hi there, Don! I'm not too worried about the expense of a desert road trip, it'll happen when it happens; plus, I just might shoot myself on a tour bus full of talky strangers..... ;-)

Glad you got an unsolicited blogger response! Those are always fun.

So, will you be blogging more once school is out?

  3. @Betty: The comments are well deserved. (I'm following you too. Shhh... cause I'm doing it privately.) ;-)

@Saphron: Yeah, talky strangers are annoying. I see them all the time in the mirror when I'm shaving. (Oh, that's me.) You're right. When the time arrives... you'll be ready. And... I hope to blog more once school is out... in just... (wait for it...) four more weeks! Oh yeah!

  4. Betty is a wonderful ray of sunshine out here in the blog world. Lovely poem Don. The pictures are great. Hope you and your family are doing well.

  5. U know if care was AN earthquake
4 Wives in a stream with 7 to play
    And each other lover undercover
    Is worthy husbands heyley!

Our whole history can be seen and sin to bin with also his kin as memories can be buried to bed in the back of your mind with 2 thoughts and crosses as same as you are now with an act of other! Love Andrew.

  6. @September: Thanks for the comments. Ready for summer?

    @Words & @Betty: Thanks for stopping by.
