Just for fun: Flowers of La Paloma

Often you find what you're looking for.

As a kid growing up, I mowed lawns. One neighbor had a passion flower vine. It was the first time I ever saw a breathtakingly beautiful flower. It left an impression, and now I have two passion flower vines in my yard.

Over the years I've learned to take notice of beautiful flowers. It's like gazing into the face of God. It's transforming.

The flowers (and palm tree) in these pictures were taken on the grounds of La Paloma, a small resort just south of Rosarito Beach in Northern Baja California.

Beauty is all around: in the flowers, in the sky, in the face of a loved one. If you learn to look for the beauty, you'll be surprised what you find. Enjoy the hunt!

  1. So true. I wonder if God wrote "Slow down, and smell the roses" LOL. I don't think He would have made such beautiful things unless He intended for folks to enjoy them. Thanking Him for the pretty things in this thing we call life. God Bless.

  2. Lynne, Thanks for stopping by. I looked at your profile and see that you're a fan of The Princess Bride. Me too.

Over the past month I've found myself looking less for joke prompts and more for writing prompts. The Princess Bride will supply me with a few. I love that movie.

My mirror also gave me a prompt today: Movember (or in my case Bovember). More on that later...

  3. You take great photos. Congrats. I don't know if this interests you or not, but I recently started uploading photos to this site called Fotolia.com. People can buy your photos to use for brochures and websites and the like, and you get paid for each photo they use. I just signed up myself, so I am not sure how well this site actually works, but I figured I'd give it a shot.
